MONDAY MOTIVATION: DON'T GIVE UP!

Jul 30, 2018

Mondays can be difficult to get back in the flow after the weekend so I am going to be posting some encouragement on Mondays to help get you off to a strong start to your week!

This past weekend I was able to check something off my bucket list. I have always wanted to go to a Boston Red Sox baseball game at Fenway Park which is the oldest Major League Baseball park. It was built in 1912 and is famous for the big wall in left field called the Green Monster. We went to see the Red Sox play the Twins  with some friends and it was a great game. The Minnesota Twins tied the game in the 9th inning and it went into extra innings. Halfway through the 10th inning we decided to go home to not only beat the traffic but we were tired from being in the heat and we had an early event the next morning at the church. We get in the car and turn the radio on so we can listen to the game as we drive home. As we are pulling out of the parking lot Mookie Betts hits a walk off home run to win the game for the Red Sox! Are you kidding me? We left right before the celebration! Few things are more exciting than a walk off home run to win the game.

It reminded me that sometimes in life I can be tempted to quit. When life gets difficult and we aren’t seeing the results it’s easy to get tired and want to give up.

Galatians 6:9 says, Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”(NIV)

Our God is a God that promises that He will never leave us nor forsake us. So if today you are feeling tired or discouraged and you aren’t seeing the results that you were hoping for, remember to put your hope in God! He promises that as we keep pressing on and doing good we will reap a harvest if we do not give up!

Let’s declare today that our God is faithful and His timing is always perfect!
